Canterbury Land and Water Regional Plan – Commissioners’ Recommendations Available
The Report and Recommendations of the Hearing Commissioners on the proposed Canterbury Land and Water Regional Plan (CLWRP) are now on-line.
The Recommendations will be considered by the Environment Canterbury Commissioners on 5 December, with notification of a decision likely to occur on Friday 18 January 2014. Any party dissatisfied with the decision has a right of appeal to the High Court (on points of law only), with appeals to be filed within 15 working days after notification of the decision. If no appeals are filed, the CLWRP will be made operative.
The CLWRP will put in place a new regime for managing land and water resources in Canterbury, including provisions to manage the cumulative effects of discharge of nutrients into freshwater bodies, water allocation and works in and near water. The outcome of this planning process will be of interest to many stakeholders, business and individuals.
If you would like further information on the Recommendations or advice on the CLWRP please contact Maree Baker-Galloway, Jen Crawford or Sarah Eveleigh.
