Our Summer Clerk programme is designed to provide you with a real insight into working as a lawyer in a leading law firm. The programme starts with a fun, collaborative and informative two-day induction. Your learning continues as you work alongside our team of expert lawyers, supporting them in delivering key outcomes for our clients.

What happens when you become a Summer Clerk with Anderson Lloyd?

The Anderson Lloyd Summer Clerk experience begins with a two-day induction programme. This provides you with an important opportunity to learn about Anderson Lloyd and our team of lawyers, gain an understanding of our values and culture, learn how to navigate our systems and build long-term relationships with your peers across our four offices.

During the induction you will be welcomed by our CEO and will have the opportunity to talk to senior staff about how to successfully navigate a legal office and interact with the team. You will hear from those who have been in your shoes on how to have a successful and rewarding summer, bond over team building games and activities and hear from our panel of solicitors about our health and wellbeing strategies and incentives.

Once you have completed our induction you will join your office, be welcomed by your team and meet your buddy. Buddies are a great first point of contact and provide support and guidance as you settle into your summer at Anderson Lloyd.

During your time with us you will get an opportunity to understand our culture and become part of our team. Our genuine supportive approach means you will quickly feel connected to our people, and be comfortable asking questions and interacting with Partners and staff of all levels. You will be actively involved in legal work, which could involve reviewing contracts, writing articles, attending client meetings, preparing memos and opinions, drafting documents, assisting with commercial transactions or attending court.

During the summer, you will work across two teams. Before you arrive, our People & Culture team will help identify which teams best meet your interests. We can provide you with a good level of experience in the following four specialist areas:

  • Corporate & Commercial;
  • Property & Private Client;
  • Environment, planning & natural resources; and
  • Litigation & Employment.
