Anderson Lloyd was once again a proud to support the Māori Law Society Hui-ā-Tau 2023.

Anderson Lloyd sponsored the Friday breakfast at this event, which was held last week at the brand new Pa building at the University of Waikato and Te Piringa, School of Law in Kirikiriroa, Hamilton.

The Hui-ā-Tau (Annual Conference) has been the highlight of the year for Te Hunga Rōia Māori o Aotearoa for decades, and this year’s was another outstanding event with around 450 attendees.

Bringing Te Hunga Rōia Māori together, Hui-ā-Tau is an opportunity to sharpen legal minds, a time for wānanga, thought-generation and to remind lawyers of who they are and why they are in this profession.

This year’s theme was ‘Kia mau ki te whakapono, kia mau ki te aroha, ki te ture – Hold fast to faith; hold fast to love; hold fast to law’ – Kīngi Pōtatau Te Wherowhero, 1860. Included in the programme was the swearing in of new Chief Maori Land Court Judge, Caren Fox, as well as a keynote speech by Rahui Papa.
