Queenstown Community Day: Wakatipu Reforestation Trust and Arrowtown Choppers

22 Nov 19

The Queenstown office had a jam-packed community day volunteering for two organisations - Wakatipu Reforestation Trust and Arrowtown Choppers.

On Thursday 21 November, the Queenstown office used their Community Leave to volunteer for both the  Wakatipu Reforestation Trust and Arrowtown Choppers. Both groups are doing  amazing work to protect and restore the native biodiversity of the Wakatipu Basin.

First, the morning was spent in  Arrowtown with the  Wakatipu Reforestation Trust, maintaining the native planting site on Feehly Hill.  Op’s Manager Nita Smith talked the team through what the trust does, the significance of the site and plans for reforestation.

Then after lunch, the afternoon was spent with Arrowtown Choppers. Karl Walker of AT Choppers led the team up Tobins Track  to clear  wilding pine.

The day was a great success and we look forward to supporting these exceptional organisations again in the future.
