David is a specialist infrastructure and construction lawyer with nearly 15 years’ experience in New Zealand and the UK, advising on social and economic infrastructure, power generation and construction projects and social housing projects.

David joined Anderson Lloyd as a partner in July 2014 having been a partner at Russell McVeagh in Auckland.

His specialist expertise is in Public Private Partnerships (PPPs), where he has led the legal team advising the successful consortia on seven of the first eight NZ PPP projects. David is currently advising a consortium for the Waikeria Prison Development PPP project.

David has also advised the successful bidder for the pathfinder Tauranga Social Housing Transfer and consortia for the social housing projects currently in procurement, Christchurch Social Housing Transfer and Tāmaki Regeneration Project.

David is described as “a step above other PPP lawyers” in the 2016 Legal 500 (Asia Pacific), is listed in Best Lawyers in New Zealand in 2014-15, 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 as a leading lawyer in Project Finance and Development Practice and is also recommended in Doyles Leading Construction and Infrastructure Lawyers NZ in 2016 and 2017.
