Employment Agreements – Are you complying?

19 Jan 17

The Employment Relations Amendment Act 2016 came into force on 1 April 2016 and new employees from that date must have an employment agreement that complies with those amendments.  For existing employees hired on or before 31 March 2016, employers have until 1 April 2017 to make any necessary changes to employment agreements.[1]

Employers which have not updated employment agreements which contain trial periods, secondary employment or availability provisions will not be compliant with the current legislation.
