Government Seeks Feedback on Draft Adventure Activities Certification Scheme
The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) is seeking comments and suggestions on the draft New Zealand Adventure Activities Certification Scheme.
The Scheme is being developed for the purposes of the Health and Safety in Employment (Adventure Activities) Regulations 2011. For more information about these regulations see our previous articles .
The Scheme sets out proposed requirements and guidance for safety audit providers and operators based on International Standard ISO/IEC 17065 – the standard which will provide the primary criteria for accreditation of audit providers.
The draft Scheme details the proposed additional requirements and guidance on how to apply the International Standard ISO/IEC 17065 to the audit and certification of adventure activity operators in New Zealand. It is these elements of the Scheme which MBIE is currently consulting the public about.
A helpful summary and guide to the draft Scheme can be found here. To find out how to make a submission click here.
Submissions on the draft Scheme need to be received by MBIE by 5pm on 5 August 2013.
