Rosie joined our Queenstown Resource Management team in 2015, having begun her legal career as an in-house solicitor at the Ministry for the Environment in Wellington. Rosie brings with her a wealth of inside experience in national and regional environmental regulations, law reform, local government, and public law.

Rosie regularly represents a range of clients in Council and Court hearings on all areas of environmental and resource management law, including in particular on plan changes, consenting, property subdivision and development, and freshwater.

Living on a high country deer station just outside of Queenstown means that Rosie is able to regularly visit clients on their properties in the wider Otago region and provide practical, real life advice. Her true strength is in understanding the challenges and opportunities of living and working in a rural environment, and communicating this effectively to clients, experts, consultants and decision-makers.

Rosie is interested in governance and community; in 2019 she was elected as a Trustee of the Central Lakes Trust (the largest philanthropic trust per capita in the Southern Hemisphere) for a three year term, she is a member of the Institute of Directors and the Resource Management Law Association.

Rosie was named as 2023 NZLawyer Rising Star.
