Sarah is a Senior Associate specialising in Litigation and Dispute Resolution.
Sarah has a wide and varied practice including acting and advising in shareholder disputes, regulatory prosecutions, trust and estate litigation, commercial disputes, coronial inquests, professional disciplinary matters, construction disputes and judicial review involving Te Tiriti o Waitangi related claims. Her clients range from family trusts and individuals, to local authorities, iwi and large companies.
Sarah has a special interest in insurance litigation. She regularly acts for insurers and insured parties under professional indemnity and statutory liability policies. She also acts for parties challenging decisions of insurers to decline cover.
Sarah is an experienced advocate having started her career as a Crown Prosecutor in Wellington in 2009. She prosecuted jury trials and criminal appeals and regularly advised government agencies on regulatory enforcement, including Health and Safety. Sarah worked in the Professional Conduct team at Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, investigating and managing complaints about practitioners, before moving to Dunedin in 2014. Sarah worked as an Associate at a local Dunedin firm practicing civil litigation, employment and criminal law before joining Anderson Lloyd in 2019.
Sarah has volunteered as a trustee of the Trade Aid Dunedin Trust since 2015 and was Chair for three years.
