Warwick has been with Anderson Lloyd for more than 40 years, in which time he has built a client base spanning from large corporates to farmers and private clients he originally helped with conveyancing.
Warwick has a broad speciality, dealing with corporate and local authority commercial work, large farming clients and restructuring of businesses at all levels, involving asset protection and the establishment of trusts and companies, as well as financing and large corporate work.
Warwick’s aim is to be fully involved with his clients. An integral part of his work is understanding his clients’ business and industry sector to enable him to better appreciate his clients’ legal needs and provide good solutions.
Pro bono work is something Warwick is passionate about; among the many charitable trusts he is involved in, Warwick is a trustee of the Otago Rescue Helicopter Trust and Chairman of its company.
Giving back to the legal profession is also important to Warwick. He chaired the New Zealand Law Foundation, which fosters legal research, and the New Zealand Law Library board. He has served on the New Zealand Law Society board for many years and is a past treasurer and South Island vice-president. Warwick also assisted the New Zealand Law Society with the formulation and roll-out of the Lawyers and Conveyancers Act, travelling the country with a small team of three to advocate the model that eventually became the Lawyers and Conveyancers Act 2006.
Warwick retired as a Partner with Anderson Lloyd on 31.03.17 however remains with the firm transitioning his clients and mentoring younger lawyers.
