Leading Law Firms Announce Alliance for Christchurch

29 Apr 2012 |

The Reserve Bank estimates that the reconstruction of Christchurch is expected to cost in the vicinity of $30 billion. Christchurch will become one of the biggest construction sites in the southern hemisphere.

To assist with the reconstruction Anderson Lloyd and Kensington Swan have pooled their resources and formed an alliance to ensure Christchurch has access to New Zealand’s leading infrastructure experts in consenting, property and construction law.

Between them the law firms will offer eight resource management law partners, thirteen property partners, and five construction partners.

Anderson Lloyd Chairman of Partners, Warwick Deuchrass, says “the move is a very exciting one. We have a strong presence in Christchurch, particularly in consenting and property law, and are looking forward to rebuilding our city with Kensington Swan”.

Kensington Swan Chairman, Gerald Fitzgerald, says “there is a real synergy between the firms. We have a leading national construction team, which complements the services Anderson Lloyd provides. Together we can provide clients with the expertise and depth of resource they need”.

Both firms are committed to ensure a seamless delivery of legal services so that clients will essentially be dealing with one firm, but will have access to senior experts from both.
