27 Aug 2014 |

This is significant for anyone with an interest in rebuilding and development in Christchurch. The process will be streamlined with limited appeal rights. Participation in what is essentially the only opportunity to influence the content of the Christchurch Replacement Plan is key.

The stage one chapters were publicly notified on Wednesday 27 August.

The notified chapters are:

  • Introduction
  • Strategic Directions
  • Contaminated Land (part)
  • Transport
  • Industrial (part)
  • Commercial (part)
  • Subdivision and Development (part),
  • Residential (part)
  • Natural Hazards (part)
  • Definitions and maps associated with the above chapters
  • Non-council designations.

Submissions on the stage one chapters close at 5pm on 8 October 2014. Submissions will be published and opened for further submissions on 22 October 2014. Hearings are expected to take place in December 2014 and January 2015.

Council expect to notify the remaining chapters in mid 2015.
