Jo specialises in environmental law, with a focus on strategic advice across the full range of resource management matters. She has more than 30 years’ experience and is recognised as one of New Zealand’s leading resource management and infrastructure lawyers.
She advises clients across the South Island and nationally, with a practice that includes key infrastructure providers such as, Lyttleton Port Company and Christchurch International Airport. She is also experienced in coastal marine issues, climate litigation, iwi engagement, urban and industrial development, and complex environmental disputes.
Jo has been involved with significant property development work including large scale industrial and residential rezoning and has acted for Meridian Energy and others in relation to hydro-generation and solar energy projects. She appeared in numerous high-profile cases and hearings, including consenting processes for large-scale projects and environmental recovery plans.
Jo joined Anderson Lloyd as a Partner in September 2025 and is recognised in the Hall of Fame by Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2025, and as a Band 1 Environment & Planning lawyer by Chambers Asia Pacific 2025. She was part of the team awarded the Resource Management Law Project Award in 2019, for the Lyttleton Port recovery project.
