Anne has been an integral part of Anderson Lloyd for over two decades, having joined the firm in 1999. Her journey with the firm has seen her actively contribute from both the Christchurch and Dunedin offices.

Anne’s legal practice primarily revolves around corporate and commercial law, and she stands out for her collaborative approach in working with clients to achieve their desired outcomes. Her expertise lies in orchestrating significant acquisitions and divestments.  A recent example is the sale of the shares in Southern Hospitality to Reward Hospitality.

Notably, Anne has also carved a niche for herself acting for owners of hotels. Her work involves advising clients on the acquisition and divestment of hotels, along with navigating complex negotiations involving hotel management agreements, lease arrangements, and franchise structures. Recent examples are the acquisitions of Sofitel, Queenstown and Rydges, Wellington.  Anne and her team won the mid-market deal of the year award at the 2022 New Zealand Law Awards for the acquisition of the Rydges Hotel.

Her astute understanding of financial products, under the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013, further adds to her diverse skill set. Anne is a trusted advisor to listed companies, guiding them through compliance and capital raising.

She is also a go-to legal expert for receivers and liquidators, overseeing the entire spectrum of insolvency matters, from appointment to asset sale.

Anne’s impressive track record of representing overseas acquirers and her ability to navigate complex, high-value transactions make her an invaluable asset to her clients and the legal community.

Anne is a member of the Institute of Directors, the Restructuring Insolvency & Turnaround Association of New Zealand (RITANZ) and the Banking and Financial Services Law Association.

Anne holds a number of positions in and outside the legal industry, including being a director of Port Otago Limited and Chalmers Properties Limited. She has been recognised on the NZ Lawyer list of Elite Women for both 2022 and 2023.
